No account or sign-in is required to use Viratham AI. We explicitly opt out of all advertising identifiers on the Google Play platform.
All your preferences — your chosen language (Tamil/Tanglish/English), fasting type preferences, and notification settings — are stored locally on your device using Android's SharedPreferences or Room database. This data never leaves your phone unless you explicitly share it.
The app calculates Panchangam data (Tithi, Nakshatra, Yoga, etc.) and fasting calendar information using locally computed algorithms based on standard Hindu astronomical formulae. No server call is made for calendar or Panchangam data.
Viratham AI uses OpenAI's GPT-4o model to power the following features: AI Chat, Fasting Recipes, Sacred Katha (stories), Pooja Checklist, Vedic Palan, and the Fridge Camera Scan. When you trigger any of these features, a request is sent to OpenAI's API.
What is sent to OpenAI:
Your personal identity is never included in these requests. OpenAI processes these requests under their own Privacy Policy available at openai.com/privacy. We recommend reviewing their policy if you have concerns about AI data handling.
The Fridge Camera Scan feature requires camera access. The camera is activated only when you explicitly tap the scan button. Images are captured, sent immediately to OpenAI's Vision API for ingredient recognition, and are not saved to your device gallery or to any Zecrari server. The captured image is discarded after the AI response is returned.
Viratham AI may send local device notifications to remind you of upcoming fasting days or festivals. These notifications are generated entirely on your device using Android's local notification system. No notification data is transmitted to Zecrari or any third party. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
The Pro subscription is handled entirely by Google Play Billing. Zecrari does not receive, store, or process any payment card or billing information. All purchase records are managed by Google. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for details on how payment data is handled.

The app does not use Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, Facebook SDK, Crashlytics, or any other third-party analytics or advertising SDK.
Viratham AI is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of Viratham AI after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
